On today’s episode of Just Biz, Omaha Style we’re talking with Zac Triemert, president and master distiller of Brickway Brewery & Distillery. A self-described mad scientist and entrepreneur, Zac is the brains behind the Brickway brand. He strategizes Brickway’s unique product chemistry and distinct culture.
Brickway Brewery opened Dec. 13, 2013 in Omaha’s historic Old Market district and started out brewing a few staple beers, a pilsner, Hefeweizen, India pale lager and oatmeal stout.
Being whisky lovers, the company’s focus expanded to distilling their own whisky. Since it takes at least two years to mature whisky, they broadened their craft to include Libertas Rum, Brickway Vodka and Brickway Gin.
After two years, they were finally ready to introduce their Brickway Single Malt Whisky. It has since won three international gold medals, a silver and a bronze. Brickway now produces more than 30 beers and 10 different spirits in a year.
